Vote Against a Liberal, Democrat Controlled Government

In my previous post I focused on an important issue that has been on my mind during the past few months. I’d like to now focus this post on the Presidential and other elections which also have monopolized much of my thoughts lately.

In one week "We the People" of the United States of America will have another opportunity to vote for those leaders who will guide our country for the next several years. We have been bombarded with advertisements, news stories, phone calls, emails, online discussions, etc., and many Americans are sick of it and have just decided to stop tuning in and listening. Many Americans know that what they watch on their evening news is a load of crap; a biased, liberalistic reporting of the day’s news. There are, though, still a few sources that provide the other side of the story, however, the problem is most American’s don’t tune in to those sources. This presents the problem that the majority of our neighbors, friends and family are less informed about what we have at risk this election year.

What’s at Risk?
What we are facing this November 4th is the likelihood that our Senate and House of Representatives will be controlled by the Democrats and our President will be Barrack Obama, the most liberal Democratic Senator ever to be elected to that office. With the executive and legislative branches of government being run by these liberal Democrats and several seats in the judicial branch being vacated in the near future that will be filled with judges who Obama will appoint, the government will have total control to pass any and all laws that they want. Do you agree with their stances on abortion? On taxes? On cutting military spending by 25%? On creating a government-run health care system? On increasing spending even more than the government is spending by taxing "rich" people? There needs to be "checks and balances" in place to stop this from happening.

Financial Crisis and Pointing Fingers
The financial problems that we are facing cannot be tied to any one political party. Democrats and Republicans alike have caused this financial crisis. Out of control spending, and a lack of accountability has wreaked havoc on the US economy. This is not a Democrat problem. This is not a Republican problem. This is an Incumbent problem. Even though our Congress only has a 16% approval rating, 94% of them consistently are re-elected every election year. "We the People" opposed the bail-out bill more than 400 to 1, but did our elected representatives listen? No. What does that say about those who "represent" us? They don’t care what the voice of the people is or what their constituents want. Let’s join together and replace our elected representatives with men and women with integrity and a mission to improve our government. Please check out Independence Caucus to help with this "tea party".

So, don’t vote for one party in particular because you think the other party caused all of our financial problems. But if you want to go that route, keep in mind that Obama sued banks who resisted the Democratic mandate to fund sub-prime, risky mortgages. Democrats defended Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and other corrupt organizations saying that there was not a problem and that all attempts to stop or regulate the sub-prime market was racist and/or to trod on the poor. McCain and many other Republicans supported and proposed legislation that would have helped prevent this financial crisis from happening for years and years and years. But all these attempts were shot down by the Democrats in Congress. I mean, if you want to go that route, we can.

Taxes and the American Dream
History has proven that when the economy is in a recession, like it is now, the worst thing that the government can do is raise taxes, for anybody. Ronald Reagan’s administration was proof that lowering taxes, among other things, helped the economy rebound after the Carter administration had tanked the economy.

Obama wants to raise taxes on anybody who makes $250,000 a year or more. I don’t make that much… yet. Neither does "Joe the Plumber." Does that make it right to "spread the wealth around?" Is it okay to take more money from those who are successful, so that those who are lazy or not successful can get a free handout? The reason I said, "yet" above is because I am not content with being mediocre, average or "middle class". The American Dream is becoming successful against all odds; working hard to EARN a better life. It is not defined by being "middle class" or owning a home you can’t afford.

I am appalled that Obama and Biden both have mocked "Joe the Plumber" in speeches over the past couple of weeks because he wants to pursue the American Dream. He isn’t content with making less than $250,000 per year. He wants to own his own business, he wants to be successful, he wants to work hard and make a better life for himself, his child, and his future employees. Obama wants to tax him for it. He wants to take money from the dreamers to give money to those who don’t share the same dream as you or I and in most cases do not pay taxes at all.

"I am Joe the Plumber." You may be "Joe the Plumber" too. And Obama and Biden are mocking you and I for wanting to pursue the American Dream. How dare they!

Obama also wants to create a universal, government-run health care system. What he is suggesting is like Europe’s universal health care. Believe me, I lived in Europe for two years and their health care system sucks. I believe our health care practices need to be improved, but to allow the government to run it? This is a terrible idea.

Is Obama a socialist? I don’t know that. Is what he is proposing a form of socialism? Absolutely!

Audio of Obama discussing "redistribution of wealth" and how the Constitution should be changed (Glenn Beck and YouTube).

Moral Responsibility
I don’t think I need to get into this because I hope that all of my friends, family and readers are as conservative on moral issues as I am, but I probably should for the sake of all of you who are not familiar with the voting record of Obama. These are just a few of the moral issues of which I disagree with Mr. Obama.

  • SB230 (1997) – Obama voted to allow partial birth abortion.
  • SB485 (1999) – Obama voted Yes to give offer of “Good Time” for sex offenders sentenced to county jail. Obama was the only one voting yes.
  • SB709 (2000) – Obama voted to allow state funding of abortion and induced miscarriages.
  • SB609 (2001) – Obama would not cast a vote on law to restrict the location of Adult Businesses (Porno, Strip Clubs, etc.) to within 1,000 feet of elementary, secondary, and preschools, parks, places of worship.
  • SB1661 (2002) – Obama voted No to protect newborns. (Part of the Born Alive Protection Package) Born Alive Infants Protection Act . Congress heard testimony about babies that had survived attempted late-term abortions. Nurses testified that these pre-term living, breathing babies were being thrown into medical waste bins to die or being “terminated” outside the womb. Let’s be clear about what Obama did, once in 2003 and twice before that. He effectively voted for infanticide. He voted to allow doctors to deny medically appropriate treatment or, worse yet, actively kill a completely delivered living baby. Here is a video on YouTube that talks about this barbaric practice (

Do I need to follow up on his record with you? I hope not.

Guilt By Association
There has been some controversy reported in the mainstream media regarding Obama’s relationships, past and present, of very radical people. The cable news stations report more about them. It appears that Obama’s dismissive explanations have won the majority of American’s trust. Not me. I am an eyewitness to the effects that people’s friends and associates have on their opinions, the way they make decisions and the way they live their lives. I’m talking about family members, of course, who really messed up with their choices in friends and now live in a way that hurts me so much to see and to think about. If Obama is not effected by or responsible for these relationships, we must ask ourselves, what qualities does Obama have that draws these kinds of radicals to associate with him?

Vote for John McCain and Sarah Palin
If your choice is not to vote for a non-liberal Democrat to represent you in the Senate and the House of Representatives, then the only way to have checks and balances in our government with the next administration is to vote against Barrack Obama and Joe Biden. The only way that this will be effective is if you vote for John McCain and Sarah Palin. Any third party has no real chance this election year of being elected, so your vote will basically not count in favor of or against either of the two main parties. I don’t agree with all of McCain’s policies, but I trust him more than I trust Obama. Who do you agree with more? Who do you trust more?

We’re potentially facing a completely Democrat-run government on November 4th. This will allow the government to create and remove any laws that they want to. It will be completely partisan in favor of Democratic and potentially very liberalistic philosophies and ideals. There need to be "checks and balances" in place. We can stop this by either voting for non-Democrats for our state representatives in the Senate and the House of Representatives, or vote against Barrack Obama. I’ve presented reasons why I will be voting against Barrack Obama and Joe Biden. A vote for John McCain is a vote against Barrack Obama.

I support a government that will be free of a super-majority, that has checks and balances in place, and that will create legislation based on the will of "We the People." I support a President who will not destroy the values of the United States of America as we know it. I support a President who will uphold the Constitution set forth by our founding fathers and not seek to change it. I support John McCain and Sarah Palin.
